The Voids in its peak
The Void was a large structure created from black pixels, located in the center of /r/place. It acted as an antagonistic force to other organizations, consuming anything that came in its path. The Void was revealed to be the attempts of uncanny Mr. Incredible in breaching the universe''. He successfully manifested as a dark god, before being met by the community in an attempt to stop its apocalypse.

The Void originated near the (969, 1433) pixel. It spread vastly from there.

r/place 2017[]
The Void during the 2017 event on r/place was mostly made of randoms and hiveminds. The 2017 void did a lot of consuming on the canvas however it wasn't much a coordinated community at the time.
r/place 2022[]
In April 1st, 2022, r/place has made a new canvas for people to make new things together. The Void, or The Swarmers, are a group of individuals who have gained attraction on the famous r/place on Reddit by their antagonistic actions of spreading the Void.

r/place 2023[]
On the 20th of July, r/place released another empty canvas for users to draw on. The void quickly started to spread despite the sudden announcement of r/place in the middle of the week. Users gathered around to contribute the ever-growing dark blotch in the canvas. With such sudden announcement, The Void/Swarm was open to the public for people to join in.

Battle against the Mexican Flag[]
During the very early days of the r/place 2023, the void was in an area surrounded by flags. Despite the best efforts of everyone there, the Mexican Flag and other flags overpowered the void.
Battle of the Face[]
Near the end of the fifth day of r/place 2023, the void fell under attack by a streamer's attempts at placing his face on the canvas, the face in question was considered a meme by the streamer's community and, if finished, would cover a portion the void. The Swarm held off the attack for over two hours before a truce was reached, and the streamer agreed to end his attack and allow The Void to corrupt the face. During the attack against the face, the "War Room: The Hive" stage voice channel reached its peak at 400 members present at the same time. By the sixth morning, the face was almost entirely corrupted by Void tendrils, creating one of the most iconic scenes of r/place 2023.

Nearly complete Void Dragon
The sixth day of r/place started with a large scale offensive by rogue Vietnamese bots from the established Vietnamese flag into the far right edge of the canvas. The void's allies in the One Piece community fell under attack by this offensive, prompting Voiders to try to slow down the bot advance. After some time of intense battling, the bots seemed to become weaker, which led to the development of a second void core within the Vietnamese red territory, and restoration of the One Piece art. After some hours the majority of the red pixels had been eradicated. The Void expanded to the south of the canvas as it broke through the remainder of the face and other small arts that previously bordered it. A previous artwork (known as Slifer the Sky Dragon from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game) that was destroyed by the Vietnamese bots was replaced by a Void-Dragon collaborative project designed by u/omni1001 and built with the assistance of Papaplatte's viewers. This became one of the largest and most well done artworks in r/place, and survived until the final canvas. The Vietnamese Counter-Offensive helped restore the Void's reputation in the eyes of much of r/place, as the void was finally able to live up to its goal - destroy pointless flags and leave space for real art, at the end of Place '23, the Void was, by some, considered a "hero". The territory gained through this struggle made the Void one of the largest works on the canvas, with 63127 pixels in total.

The Void has had its best attempts to make an appearance on the map until the end. Here are some highlights of the Void's cameo to r/place 2022.
Yasin
In 2023, a new Void core would emerge every canvas expansion, even if there was already a healthy one. This, consequently, led to the existence of 2 cores at the same time (During the penultimate and final expansion). In line with the Void's goal, almost all of the territory left behind by abandoned Void cores would be developed with art made by small communities - including the now legendary Void Cat.
The Mothervoid created by randoms and the Void
The Mothervoid[]
The Mothervoid is the main core of the Void, holding most - if not all - of the power and land mass. One of the most iconic things the Void is known for is its slogan, "CONSUME EVERYTHING, CREATE NOTHING", they are the black plague of the r/place canvas, corrupting everything it touches. They normally come in the form of very epic monsters who sit in the middle of the void.
Void Creatures
Void Creatures are monsters in the Void which are smaller then Mothervoid, but still monsters normally. The Void would usually make a mini core around them, and would tendril off of them.
TRIVIA[]
- The Void one of the biggest communities ran by randoms.
- The Void present on the Place '23 canvas is approximately 2,51 times bigger than the one present on the Place '22 final canvas.
- The Void's Mothervoids were not initially run by The Void; they were first created by randoms and were quickly embraced into the Void’s identity.
- There are Voiders that strongly oppose the existence of a Mothervoid, and instead, think that The Void should be completely black. Despite that, those Voiders aren't the majority of the swarm.
- The Void corrupts and “Voidifies” creations it consumes, turning them dark and devoid of color, along with making them scary. The Mr. Incredible and Void dragon are key examples of this.
- When cores become large enough they become “Mothervoids”, gaining characteristics similar to a lovecraftian deity and being large enough to hold many smaller artworks within.
- The Void always tries to not black out memorials as much as possible.
- The Void always appears 1st every time the canvas expands.
- At the end of Place '22, The Void had roughly about 18,000 members and 500 active Voiders.
- The Void's peak manpower stood at 2,000 Voiders.
- The Void made a partial appearance in May 2023 On https://rplace.tk/.
- The Void has teams of people working on helping it grow, them being the Mothervoid CORE Militia, Anti-Confetti Drone, Tendril Expansion Crew, and the CORE Bot Specialists, all of those are actual roles on The Swarm discord server.
Confetti[]
Confetti a.k.a random colored dots, are one of the Void's primary issues it faced during most of the Mothervoid's lifespan. Confetti is created because of random users joining in and working on destroying the Void. However, the confetti issue was fixed when the random users started making abstract diagonal lines on the Mothervoid which fended off confetti surprisingly well.

Tendrils[]
Tendrils are tentacle-like black lines that spread out from the core. Tendrils often can range from a small one that is half the diameter of the core or even ones that's 2x or 5x longer than the diameter of the core. Tendrils are used to branch from art to another art without cutting connections off the core. During the final canvas expansion, the core of the Void has reached such a long distance that it is visible on the full 2000x2000 map.

Voidlings/ Void Parasites

Voidlings or Void Parasites are a new occurrence for the 2023 r/Place. Often characterized by what appears to be an eyeball attached to a tendril, they are also sometimes are adorned with ornate decals.
Void Cat
Void Cat is an entity that was formed out of darkness and is a sign of cuteness. It was created by the One Piece, Pusheen and the Big Cykas community, and it is a sign of alliance and support. This cute cat is not to be confused with the void cat of 2022 (which was a void monster), one of the first great void cores and responsible for the destruction of the pizza of Italy.
